Gibson's Birth Day

Today I'm going to share Gibson's Birth story, via pictures. It is going to be extremely photo heavy because I LOVED every single photo taken by my dear friend Virginia of House of Maps Photography. She is wonderful and I was so happy that she could be with me during my birth and to literally capture the first few moments of Gibson's life.

and please be aware these are his VERY first moments so it does get a bit slimy in these photos but they are all PG :-)

Again THANK YOU Virginia!!! YOU ARE WONDERFUL!!!

Little Prince Party

Last Saturday Birch Event & Design, LLC did coordination and design work for a fun Korean Dol Celebration (or First Birthday Party). The birthday boy was Noah John and the theme was The Little Prince.

First we set up a personalized gmail account for the party and this was the way that we sent out save the dates and invitations. We also utilized google documents for guest tracking and to create a mood-board that could be viewed and edited by both myself and the client.

Here are some images from the event!

Ceremony Table:

I made the blue & white towers from sixlets candy and the traditional dol towers from paper towel rolls and beans (they say Happy Birthday and Noah)

The ceremony table must also include rice balls/cake, flowers, and edible fruit. We also included a great canvas with photos of the birthday boy.

Before the event the family took photos in their traditional Korean attire

Dol Jabi Guessing Game Table / Photo Table:

I spray painted random frames in the party colors and had photos of the birthday boy printed at CVS. For the Dol Jabi guessing game I used Dollar Store glass containers for guests to guess what Noah would pick. Mom and Dad went with the traditional options of Money, Rice, Pencil, and Yarn.

I created "labels" for the guessing containers out of felt....

Dessert / Candy Table:

The table cloth was found at IKEA & I made the banner with my Silhouette

I used glass containers that I already had on hand to hold all of the yellow, blue, & red candies. I also used ribbon and my Silhouette to make the containers personalized to the Little Prince Theme.

Cake and cupcakes were made by Dazzle Cakes.

I made these cute star sugar cookies with gold sprinkles (Tip: to get the sprinkles to stick brush the cookie with light corn syrup).

On the table I scattered homemade confetti of stars and airplanes.

I also made the mini rice crispy treats that were dipped in white chocolate and sprinkles.

Additional Details:

Airplane place cards... Table numbers are inside

The tables have the dollar store star containers with blue glass circles (Dollar store) three balloons to ad height, and the table number holders are spray-painted frames(Dollar Store) with a quote from the book.

Each place setting has a menu that I designed and a bookmark that I made with another quote from the book. The guests could take the bookmark home as a favor... fitting for a party with a book for the theme!
