Spare Room: Dresser Update

Last week I shared that I was itching to get my paint on and that I was planning to get my fix by giving my new Craigslist dresser a little make-over...

Here she was in her pre-paint glory... Yes, I've decided that the dresser is a girl :)

Step one was to take out all of the drawers and remove the hardware.

Second, we got everything moved out to our screened in porch and Matt set me up with his amazing sander!

Next I got my sanding on...

The results on my labor...

The process all together took about 3 hours.

After staining the top (Ebony) and painting the bottom (Pencil - Martha Stewart) We moved this bad boy downstairs...

Yes, I decided to go with Yellow. I thought that with the blue headboard I needed to bring another pop of the yellow in somewhere.

I also did a SUPER fast coat of Oil-Rubbed Bronze on the pulls before putting them back on...

These will not be out "forever pulls" but will do for now.
