Father's Day Ideas

Father's Day is just around the corner!

Here is a reminder of what we looked like last Father's Day when I was 26 weeks preggers! Maybe I should cut my hair short again????

Here is a little gift guide to assist in last minute Father's Day shopping...

Under the weather...

So sorry for my lack of posts the last two days as I have been bed ridden!

It all started on Monday with a fall down the stairs and a bruised tail bone! OUCH

And well I guess that was not enough because Emma and I both came down with a 24 hour bug or food poisoning! NOT FUN. Each time I got sick I was in double the pain thanks to my Tail bone!

No Bueno!!! We are doing better today and I will have a real post this afternoon!

Hunter at 38 Weeks

It is hard to believe that at this point Hunter has been out of my belly for longer than he was inside!

The only really exciting item for this week is that Hunter cut his first tooth!

Run or Dye

On Saturday I ran in my first 5 K!

Emma and I did the Run or Dye race and it was a blast!

Here we are before the start of the race with nice white shirts!

Hunter even wanted to get in on the action!

And here we were at the end.

This was my first race so I really have nothing else to compare it to. I would do it again but I would probably bring a medical mask to toss over my nose and mouth for the dye stations... they throw dye all over you (including the face) and it is very hard to breath around these areas.

excuse the camera phone pictures..

Summer Plans!

To say that we have a lot going on this summer is an UNDERSTATEMENT!!!

Emma's will get out of school the week of 17 June and we will start the summer of with a long weekend to Savannah, GA (My hometown)!

I cannot wait to go down there to see family & friends and to celebrate my brother who will be retiring from the Navy! The trip will of course include a trip down to Tybee Island so that Hunter can have his first beach experience!

I have a 2 day/1 night work trip at the end of June and a 2 night/3 Day trip the first week of July.

Cannot wait for July 4th so that we can watch the fireworks over Washington, D.C.! We actually have access to one of the very best locations and I will share more about that in a later July post...

In July Emma will head down to camp for two weeks!!! She is so excited to be heading back to Camp Winshape in GA.

This is the same camp that I went to growing up and we plan to continue the tradition with all of our kiddos! I'm also excited that (thanks to furlough) I will be able to both drive Emma down AND pick her up! (Typically I have only been able to take off from work to do one or the other...). The trips down to GA for camp will be sure to include some fun stops along the way... to include a night in Atlanta so that we can visit the World of Coca-Cola and the Georgia Aquarium

While Emma is at camp I will do an international work trip. It is one that I am SUPER excited about and will share info after!

In August things continue to be crazy busy with a weekend wedding in Indiana for my cousin and a week in beautiful Traverse City, MI!

I mean just look at that water!!! A plus for going in August is that the water might be warm! We cannot wait to see family/friends (it is Matt's hometown), to go tubing, wine tasting, and I would love to add a tradition of cherry picking! It is something that we have not yet done in Traverse City which is CRAZY because it is the cherry capital of the world! Another thing that I've wanted to to for a while is a visit to the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Busybusy!

August will also bring a one week work trip to Washington State.

The family will come along as I will have a little free time and I'm looking forward to taking them out on a boat, fishing, whale watching, going to antique stores, and horseback riding!

In September school will start up and Hunter Man will be turning ONE!!! Where does time go???

We truly plan to make the most out of our summer and we have a HUGE list of fun items that we hope to check off! I will, of course, share our adventures as they happen or soon after (in the case of work related items)!

Stop back by this afternoon to check out our Summer Fun List!

Pool Bag

One Summer essential in the Park household is a pool bag that is always packed and ready to go! Our pool bag stays in our hall closet near our beach towels :-)

The pool bag is actually a diaper bag that I purchased from Baby Gap about 8 years ago.

They of course no longer have the same bag but check out this one from their Diane von Furstenberg collection! LOVE

I think that I got it for only $9.99... I love using a diaper bag as a poll bag because it is just the right size and it has a ton of pockets for all of our summer essentials!

Plus you cannot beat that great print.

Here is a peak at the inside!

This is what we have in one section:

I think that the American Girl activity book and pen are a must. It helps keep Emma occupied during breaks from swimming.

We also have a bag devoted to sun screen, a brush, hair ties, and anti-tangle spray.

There is also a Vera Bradley Ditty Bag. I love that it has a plastic lining which is perfect for wet swimsuits.

There is also a sunglasses holder with some stylish shades to protect the eyes of my cute kiddos!

And of course what pool bag is complete without SWIMSUITS!

We are always set and ready to go! Cannot wait for school to be out and for summer to be in full swing! Often times my mom will take Emma to the pool and I will meet up with them after I get off from work at 3:00! I feel so blessed to be able to have such a great work-life balance! SO important!
