MY BABY SHOWER!

I just realized the other day that I had completely forgotten to post about my WONDERFUL baby shower!

The theme was elephants... no surprise to anyone who knows me and the colors were orange and blue!

It was the perfect event hosted by three amazing friends! I'm one lucky chica.

Enjoy the photos and if you are wondering the source for anything just let me know and I will get the info for you.

The one thing I do know is that the flowers were custom arrangements from Wegmans! They truly did such an amazing job! So turn to them the next time you need something!

Loved the Animal Cookies and Sugar Peanuts that guests could take home with them. I also loved the cute invitation!

Photo of the little man in my belly! This is now on the bookcase in his room.

Wishes for Hunter. I especially cherish the wishes that Emma wrote down!

Little Carter booties with an embroidered elephant on them. SOOO cute! These were the first socks that Hunter wore.

Emma and Matt's cousin! Two very beautiful girls

Yummy yummy cake

Emma helped open all of the gifts

BIG SISTER Emma shirt... and a little bodysuit for Hunter!Thank you HOLLY!
Sadly my mother-in-law was unable to attend in person but she sent this GREAT camo outfit. It was one of our favorites on Hunter! So sad that he has now outgrown the outfit.

Great photo with my WONDERFUL mom and Emma!

Matt's Aunt was so amazing and opened up her beautiful home for my shower!

IT'S A BOY!!!

Okay so I'm totally failing at this whole blogging thing!

OVER a week ago Matt and I found out that our little Baby Park is a BOY!

I was SOOO surprised to see the blue when we cut into the Gender cake... We all wanted a boy but I had convinced myself that we were going to have a little girl. Almost every Old Wives tale pointed in that direction...

      Baby’s heartbeat was above 140
      I've been craving sweets
      I did have morning sickness
      I have been Moody
       My Skin has been Dry
I've been sleeping on my Right side
      I have not had headaches

So the only one that indicated a boy was my dry skin... which I could really do without at this point.

I was convinced that we were going to have a girl but I was SOOOO wrong. On Friday morning we went in for our 18 week ultrasound and closed our eyes and turned our heads when they went down below the bellybutton. At the conclusion of our ultrasound the tech placed a card noting the gender of our baby into an envelope. I took that envelope to Emma's dental appointment and the receptionist called the bakery and revealed the sex of our baby! It was crazy carrying around that envelope all day but I was just so excited about everyone finding out together that night! There was NO way that I was going to ruin the surprise... and besides in my mind I already knew that it was going to say girl... Well later Friday night when we cut into the cake I just started crying the second we pulled out a slice with blue icing in the middle. I was so overwhelmed! So caught off guard!

Emma of course was jumping up and down like crazy and so excited that she was right and that the baby was a boy! We couldn't be happier!

I know that I owe you photos of the gender reveal party and I will pass as soon as we have them but until that time here are the latest photos of our little BOY!... Now to figure out a name!

17 Weeks

Shirt: Old Navy
Jeans: Gap

Pregnancy: 17 weeks

Weight Gain:  Forgot to check

Sleep: Still not having much luck in the sleep department. Last night I did manage to stay on my left side until about 4 a.m. (1 hr before getting up) so that was a huge accomplishment. Matt bought a new pillow top mattress and that is helping.

Gender: TBD

Names: Emma is still a bit stuck on wanting twins so her favorite names are Harper & Hunter. Still deciding on the official name though

Feeling: I'm feeling good! Had a small emotional breakdown last Friday. I was just feeling overwhelmed by things but made it through and managed to get a ton done over the weekend.

Health: I have a pinched nerve in my back that has been killing me this last week. Matt has tried to help out but it might be time to invest in a massage.

Movement: feeling regular movements. Emma still has not been able to feel a kick yet. They are just still so light from the outside.

Belly: Finally big enough to fill in one of my favorite dresses from Gap! I wore it yesterday to a work event in Atlanta and got a ton of complements.

Non Baby Highlight of the Week:
  • Emma has started outdoor soccer again! We had our first game on Saturday and her team won 4-0! IT is so great seeing all of the girls work together! She has been on the same team since Kindergarten and  they are just an amazing group of girls!
  • On a non-child front... Matt took me on a date on Saturday night to see Hunger Games! Book was better but still a great movie! Matt didn't read the books so he asked a million questions!
Next Appointment: OB: Thursday, April 26th at 18w5d & Ultrasound: Friday, April 27th at 18w5d

16 Weeks!!!

Shirt: Gap

So I'm changing up my format on here to make my weekly posts a bit more uniform. So here is the first one!
Is it just me or does 16 weeks sounds really pregnant? That's like "OMG, in 4 weeks I'll be halfway through this pregnancy!" It feels like just yesterday I was jumping up and down telling Matt that we were pregnant.
So let's talk about something really exciting!!! On Sunday night we had another couple and my parents over for dinner. When everyone left around 10 I was sleepy and laid over Matt on our sofa to watch a little TV before bed and... Matt felt the baby from the outside!! AHHHHH! I've been feeling little flicks and bumps since about 13 weeks, but I've been waiting to feel him/her from the outside for a few weeks now. I'm so happy that Matt was able to experience the little ripples of movement!

So here is the new format...

Pregnancy: 17 weeks

Weight Gain:  I cannot believe that I am going to post this... 6 Pounds

Sleep: Sleep is horrible! I am still not use to only sleeping on my left side so every time I have the urge to turn over I completely wake up and my mind starts running. It seems to take me 30 minutes to fall back asleep and when you have to wake up at 5 a.m. any way it is NO FUN!

Gender: TBD
Names: TBD... funny name of the week is Timothy Rex Park... nickname T-Rex Park
Feeling: Feeling great!
Health: Seems to be okay. I don't have any swelling or any other indications that my iron is low so it looks like things are moving right along... I ended up being high risk with Emma due to my iron count and some cysts that developed on her brain.

Movement: Matt felt the baby from the outside!!! =)

Belly: The belly seems to be growing again. It slowed down there for a bit, but it seems to have picked back up. At least my belly button is still in and looks like it will stay that way for at least another month.

Non Baby Highlight of the Week: There are SOOO many of them it is hard to choose! Here are my three highlights:
  • Emma turned eight this week!!! It is so amazing because it feels like just yesterday I was down in Statesboro, GA feeling her kick inside of me for the first time!
  • Emma FINALLY let Matt remove her training wheels on her bike and in 10 minutes learned to ride on only two wheels! This has been a long time coming and I was beginning to think that she would just never learn... but am so proud that she faced her fears and now it is all she wants to do! So cute!
  • And one non child related... Spending time with my best friend Holly and trying on dresses to wear for her wedding! Nothing like getting to make fun of yourself in a bridesmaid dress with a big old belly trying to gage what you will look like after baby! So much fun and I love that I get to see her almost every week with all of our planning for her wedding... AND this week we even managed to hang out without me rear ending her car! Success all around!
Next Appointment: OB: Thursday, April 26th at 18w5d & Ultrasound: Friday, April 27th at 18w5d

14 Weeks

Sorry for the delay in my weekly post. I've been a slacker about taking the belly photo this week.... But alas here it is...

Not the best photo of Mommy Park but I was exhausted yesterday and as I finished cooking dinner finished I had a "let's get this picture over with" moment.

We had our 4 month appointment on Monday and Matt was able to hear the heartbeat for the very first time! Exciting moment! Our doctor also said that all looks well... I have perfect weight gain and my iron counts are where they should be!

I have scheduled our 2nd Trimester Ultrasound for April 27th... that means that we will be finding out if Baby Park is a boy or girl in UNDER A MONTH! We will host a gender reveal party with family and friends... any excuse for me to throw a party. This means that Matt and I will find out the sex of the baby right along with our other guests! So excited and I cannot wait to share all of the fun photos! I am already busy planning!

Week 13 Update

Happy Monday all! Mondays mean that I get to cross off another week in the baby countdown! This week is especially important because it marks the start of my second trimester!!!

Here is the 13 week belly photo... I skipped on week 12 because Matt was in Colorado on vacation skiing with my family.

I feel like my belly has stayed the same size though in the last two weeks so no big changes.

On Thursday I went for my 1st Trimester Genetics Screening which included a blood test and an ultrasound. Matt was unable to go with me so he missed out on hearing the heartbeat for the first time! Such a bummer that he was unable to come with me but it was such a joy to hear the wonderful sound!

The 1st Trimester Genetics Screening is to look for indicators of Down syndrome and Trisomy 18 or Trisomy 13. I am happy to report that there were NO indications of Baby Park having any type of genetic disorders. In fact we had the best possible results (1 in 10,000) YAY... we never had any real concerns that there was a problem except of my crazy pregnancy brain which makes me focus on the oddest things and obsess over them... Like being convinced that Emma would be a "little person" after watching an episode of Oprah... true story!

I was going to have a regular check up on 22 March with my OB but just rescheduled for the following Monday so that Matt can join me.. It makes me so happy that he wants to be so involved in this process! I know that he just wants the opportunity to hear that wonderful heartbeat so I was happy to reschedule.

Baby Park Coming September 2012!!!

YES! Matt and I are expecting a tiny Baby Park in September! Due date is September 24th!
I am currently at 11 weeks! Here is the current home for Baby Park...

I plan to post weekly photos on here and updates so that family can stay up-to-date!

The ultrasound photo that I shared yesterday... is from last week so Baby Park is only 10 weeks old.

During our visit with the doctor it was so exciting to see a healthy heartbeat and a little active baby!
