Stitch Fix #8

A few days before Christmas I received my monthly Stitch Fix and it felt like Christmas had come early when I spied that box on my doorstep!

I LOVE that I had the same stylist as my last box.Hannah was GREAT and her note made me know right away that she had put a lot of thought into my box.

Here are the details on the items in the box

Tulle- Oceane Chevron Print Hooded Jacket - $88

I liked the print and outside material of the jacket but the inside was an odd plastic like material that felt cold and made a swishing sound. I figured that it would be SUPER cold to wear outside because of that liner. I would have also liked for it to be a little bit longer. It hit at an unflattering break point and makes my upper half look bigger.

Look by M- Shannon Plaid Infinity Scarf- $32

My last box, that I didn't blog about, had a black plain Infinity Scarf and I mentioned to my stylist that I had been looking for something with a bit more color and that I had been loving all of the plaid scarfs on pinterest these days... She even noted my request in her letter which made me really feel like Hannah was working hard to make a great box for me.

LA MADE- Ida 3/4 Sleeve Striped Shirt Dress- $98

I was not a fan of the shirt dress. It is a trend that I'm just not into. The fabric and pattern also felt super summery to me and I just couldn't embrace it ...

Moss Jang- Liana Cowl Neck Top- $38
Renee C- Milisa Mixed Geo Print Pencil Shirt- $48

I loved the pattern in the skirt HOWEVER it was that VERY curve hugging spandex/cotton material that was super tight on my skin and I would never be able to wear it to work let alone eat something in it and home girl loves her food!

The top was an odd cut. The biggest thing that threw me of was the bias cut along the bottom which you can see in the last photo. Not a huge fan.

Here is the breakdown...

Scarf: $32
Shirt Dress: $98
Chevron Jacket: $88
Geo Pencil Skirt: $48

Cowl Neck Black top: $38
TOTAL: $304

If I were to buy everything I get a 25% discount. So with the discount and minus the $20 styling fee my total would be $213

I ended up just keeping the scarf and while it wasn't EXACTLY what I wanted I didn't want to forfeit that $20 styling fee... so I ended up forking over another $12 for it :-)

The biggest thing that I'm happy about is that I had the same stylist! Excited to see what will come in the next Stitch Fix Box

Stitch Fix #6

On Friday I came home to this beautiful box!

I always get so excited to see it on my doorstep... Oddly so does Hunter! (He likes to jump on my stitch fix box... I can vouch that it is made from very sturdy cardboard)

I didn't write a post about my Stitch Fix#5 because I was so busy when I received it that I simply tried on the items and ended up returning them ALL for various reasons.

SO.. I was really interested to find what was in this box and if anything would excite me... the note was encouraging... I mean I LOVE dresses so this was sure to be a slam dunk right???

Bay to Baubles: Marka Teardrop Gen Statement Necklace ($42)

I failed to take a photo of this one but here it is from another blog
Via

It felt super cheap and it wasn't worth the money to me... I would rather them put in a unique piece that cost more. I still love my Teardrop Bracelet from the first box and just wish that they would come in with another slam dunk in the jewelry department. At the moment it just feels like they cannot find a 5th item so they just throw in a random jewelry item.

London Times: Carina Ombre Belted Dress ($98)
I was SOOOO excited the second that I saw this. It was the one item in the box that I was sure I was going to keep.

and after trying it on... not impressed. The fit was okay... bunched a little under the boobs. Honestly it just looked really matronly to me. In fact even Emma and her friend said that it looked like an old lady dress... not the response I'm looking for.

41 Hawthorn: Breyson Split Neck Pleated Sleeveless Blouse ($54)

At first glance I liked this top... Until I saw where the arm hole hit... they were SUPER long and you can see my bra

41 Hawthorn: Dorie Stretch Collarless Blazer ($88)
I was sure that I would hate this... I don't wear blazers alone... they belong with suits people!

So my first attempt at wearing I put it on with the black shirt and purple top...

Next I tried it on with a Cowlneck dress... they had it with a dress like this on the style card... Still not blown away.

So my cute hubby told me to try it on with some jeans and heels...

Okay I can work with that...

Pixley: Kathy Striped Fit & Flare Dress ($68)

I'm all about a stripe

Emma and her friend loved this dress

In the back of my mind though all I could think about was a dress that I JUST purchased from Target for $28... I like that it mixes up the stripe look with a shimmery gray and I love the pleats in the front.

I think I will stick with my Target dress on this one...

So that was my box.

Here is the breakdown...

Necklace: $42
Ombre Dress: $98
Purple Blouse: $54
Collarless Blazer: $88
Striped Dress: $68

TOTAL: $350

If I were to buy everything I get a 25% discount. So with the discount and minus the $20 styling fee AND minus $30 in credits my total would be $217.50.

I'm not going to keep everything though... I am going to keep the blazer though... at $88 minus the $50 my total comes to $38.

Stitch Fix #4

On Tuesday I received my 4th Stitch Fix box and let me just say that I wasn't too excited. I opened my box and right from the letter I felt negative about it...

Number 1... I had requested NO MORE JEANS... Why would they send me jeans...

Number 2... asked for Gray pants... again NOT JEANS. I wanted something that I could wear to work

Straight from the letter I felt like WTF I wanted something that I could wear to work and fine if you cannot find something that fits that request I get it... But don't just send me something that I specifically asked not to get for a while. Just say sorry I couldn't fill that request and that we can try again next time and pick out something that I might potentially like...

Grrr okay enough with my venting... here is what was in the box.

Jill Michael - Montgomery Beaded Hoop Earrings ($42)

They are fine... Can get the same at Target I feel like for MUCH cheaper

Kensie Jeans - Kaleigh Ankle Biter Skinny Jeans ($68)
Daniel Rainn - Minal V-Neck 3/4 Sleeve Solid Blouse ($68)
Just like the name I'm a bit biter about these jeans... While they are grey I don't want jeans in my box right now and they are a little tight and for a tall girl they hit at an odd spot on my ankle

The top is fine... thinking at this point that this might be the only item that I keep. The blush color does not come through very well in these photos. Surprisingly I also like the way that it hangs and the buttons come to a point which I like.

Three Dots - Liliana Draped Pocket Open Cardigan ($128)

First of all.... $128 for a freaking cotton drape cardigan WTF NO!!! With arms close by my side it looks okay.. but arms out I look like a flying squirrel

Loveappella - Calisa Twist-front Maxi Dress ($74)

Not feeling this AT ALL... don't see where I would ever wear it...

Here is the breakdown...

Earrings: $42
Blush Blouse: $68
Cardigan: $128
Jeans: $68
Maxi Dress: $74

TOTAL: $380

If I were to buy everything I get a 25% discount. So with the discount and minus the $20 styling fee my total would be $270.

I think that it is clear that I will not be purchasing everything but I do not want to loose my $20 styling credit so I will be keeping the top... The rest is going back into the box!

Stitch Fix #3

I was SOOOO excited to see a lovely Stitch Fix box when I got home yesterday from work!

I instantly ripped that sucker open to reveal all of the lovely items inside! Can you believe that I actually waited four WHOLE HOURS to try anything on??? That is some self control people! But I was under strict instruction from Emma to wait until she was there to provide "input"...

I always love to see how they have the items styled and I like that they have both a dress-up and dress-down option.

I also enjoy reading my note to see why certain items are picked... For this order I had requested not to receive anymore jeans and I was happy to see that they honored that request.

And now for the good stuff... sorry for the HORRIBLE lighting. I took the photos at night because I had to wait for Emma.

Cropped pants and navy/white dot blouse
I love the feel of the pants... they are SUPER soft but EXPENSIVE! A little on the fence about the blouse.

Cropped Paints (again) and White cotton cardigan
The cardigan is SOOOO soft and I want to wear it forever!

Navy/White Dot top with some ORANGE paints that I already own
Emma was NOT a fan of this look and I'm still on the fence with the top

Jace Dot Dress
The details don't show up very well in these photos but the dress is black with a cute teal dot detail. Spoiler alert I'm wearing the dress now... so safe to say I'm keeping it.

Chevron Print Dress
Matt was not a fan of this look... I thought that it was okay and looked better once I added a skinny gold belt.

Breakdown...

Blue/white Blouse: $48
Capri Pants: $108
White Cotton Cardigan: $54
Jace Dot Dress: $68
Chevron Dress: $58

TOTAL: $336

If I were to buy everything I get a 25% discount. So with the discount and minus the $20 styling fee my total would be $237

This is the first month that I'm really tempted to buy everything... If I do not buy everything I think I would only by the Jace dress and cardigan which would come to $102 with the styling fee already subtracted.

Also, I was not the only one to get some new duds yesterday!!! Hunter and Gibson both had a package from Old Navy!
