This week I cooked from KEEPERS: Two Home Cooks Share their Tried-and-True Weeknight Recipes and the Secrets to Happiness in the Kitchen
Here's how I ended up doing:
Sunday: Morning Chicken (p.44) and Braised Brussels spouts and Bacon (p.155)
Monday: Cucumber and Watermelon Salad (p.170) and Roasted Orange Chipotle Shrimp (p.20)
Tuesday: Raw Corn Salad (p.175) and London Broil with Chimichurri Sauce (p. 75)
Wednesday: Chicken Pot Pie (p.63) -- I left on a work trip on Wednesday morning and so I made this dish ahead of time and left the directions for Matt to heat it up.
Thursday: Left Overs
Friday: Sausage & White Bean Gratin p.97
Saturday: Pizza -- I got back from my trip and just didn't feel like cooking.
The only thing that I didn't make was the Paper Thin Beef with Snowpeas (p.80) Thinking that I'm going to make that tonight as I have all of the ingredients.
I will also be back tonight to share some extra photos from the Morning Chicken and Sprouts.

Hunter got a Haircut
Yesterday I decided that it was time for Hunter to get his second bug haircut. We got his first when he turned two and since that time we have just done a few trims at home... Well except for that time that my mom took him to Hair Cuttery and he looked like Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber... but we prefer not to talk about that...
Anyway.... after work yesterday we went back to Floyd's 99 for his cut. Just look at all of this hair!!!!
Mid cut... Home boy has the eye roll down for when I ask to take a photo!
Finished product
Here are some extra photos that I took when we got home
The only way that I could get him to sit still for these photos was by saying that I was taking them for Grandma Pammy so that she could see his new finger monsters!
He looks like such a big boy!

Meal Plan Monday: KEEPERS
This week I'm going to cook from KEEPERS: Two Home Cooks Share their Tried-and-True Weeknight Recipes and the Secrets to Happiness in the Kitchen
I just got this cookbook last week when my boss bought it for his wife but she already had it! Now we both have this awesome cookbook and I couldn't wait to try out a few of the recipes.
I'm out of town for the second half of this week so the meals for Wednesday and Friday are ones that I can make a head of time and have Matt Cook up.

Picnic at Green Springs Park
When I woke the girls up at 11 a.m. (they went to bed at 5 apparently) I decided that we should all head over to a local park for a picnic. We picked up some yummy food and smoothies at Tropical Smoothie and headed to the park.
This was the view from our picnic spot.

Here are a few photos from the day
Gibson was not interested in eating at all. He just wanted to walk around and explore
After eating the girls went off the explore on their own and I took the boys on a little walk around the pond.
You can tell in the below photo that Gibson was a bit warn out after our fun at the park! The boys took a three hour nap this afternoon!!! AMAZING!

Cooking: Fresh Every Day
Last Monday I started my new routine where I cook from just one cookbook during the week. On Monday I share my meal plan and on Sunday I'm going to share the photos from my cooking over the week.
This week cooked from FRESH EVERY DAY: More Great Recipes from Foster's Market.
Sunday: I made Mom's Pot Roast (p.218), Smashed Green Beans (p.119), and Maple Vanilla Roasted Pears (p.239)
Friday: Chinese Food
Saturday: Went out to Dinner with my mom and Dad... Matt was on his mancation so I didn't want to cook a big meal
Sadly, I didn't make the Roasted Halibut with Roasted Cherry Tomatoes and Butternut Squash (p.182) and Steamed Cabbage with Rosemary (p.116)
Tomorrow I will share what I'm making this week!
