DIY: Dog toy Container

At the end of the Christmas season when my mom was cleaning out all of her old Christmas decorations, that she didn't end up using this year, she came across this beauty...

and GUESS WHAT.. She was going to THROW IT AWAY! Why would anyone want to do such a thing? Just kidding... a few years ago I probably would have done the same thing. Just tossed something that so obviously wouldn't match my decor. I mean really what use do I have for an empty popcorn container?

Well not anymore folks... I'm that girl that is now so into her DIY projects that I'm one step above dumpster diving. Let's be honest here... I probably would dumpster dive if Matt wouldn't have me committed as an insane person.

ANYWAY... back to my totally awesome project... I had a vision for this thing! It was going to be a cute container for some of Sophie's extra toys, that we rotate. So, I took it home and it sat in my house (wither her extra toys inside) looking like this for TWO months.

But I finally got my act together this last weekend and I broke out some chalkboard spray paint and gave it a quick coat...

The lid was spray painted gold...

and I made a vinyl decal for it using my Silhouette machine!

And here is it in its new home!

So happy that I didn't let my mom just throw this away!
